Even I was scared of my purse

Kids:  Mom?
Me:  Yes?
Kids:  Can we have some gum?
Me:  Sure, it's in my purse.
Kids:  Never mind-we'd like to keep our fingers.  Who knows what's hiding in there?!

Some serious work needed to be done on my purse before I felt like I could tackle any other major project in my house.  This isn't mind blowing but It's a huge deal to me!  (-:  And apparently to my kids when searching for something in my purse.

First, I emptied it out, divided everything sections and threw away trash and gum wrappers.

(please excuse my ugly notebook-it used to be pretty but I have used it so much for the past 2 years and it is starting to show its age.)

I then seperated all of my papers into categories.  I am always forgetting my coupons at home so I'm hoping that if they have a place I will remember to just put them in there.  We'll see.

I found these cases at Walmart for $1.97 each.  I like that they are clear so I can see what is inside.

I created some index card labels on the fly but I'm hoping to pretty them up someday.

And voila!  The zippered pouch holds my cell phone, earphones and gum.  And the pocket that I'm assuming is for a cell phone is used for my keys.  No more hunting!

I cannot tell you how much better this makes me feel.
Let's see, what else can I organize today?!
Please tell me I'm not the only one that gets excited about an organized purse.

  1. I get excited about organized purses! I'm really bad about mine, it usually weighs a ton because I have 500 different things in there. I do something similar to try to stay organize...but usually everything just ends up shoved in there.
