a royal wedding indeed

I really didn't think I would get caught up in all of the hoopla of the royal wedding today.  But it was so captivating and it sucked me in for sure.  I loved everything about it and secretly hope that it sets a trend for weddings.  The sanctification of marriage and wedding has been forgotten a bit, I think.  I am sure that Kate's dress will also set another trend.  It is so beautiful and classy.  I thoroughly enjoyed getting caught up in the fairy tale moment of  today.  (It may also have something to do with watching a Disney fairy tale movie with the Roo since she came home sick today!)

Shakeology

This is a true story.  It happened yesterday in fact.  This was a conversation between me and my very best friend.

Me: What's wrong?

Heather: Just stressed from the job change, move, etc.... and I feel a migraine coming on.  I've got tummy issues too.

Me:  What are you eating?
I didn't even have to ask because I've known her so long and I knew that it was probably nothing and that she eventually got so starving that she grabbed the first convenient unhealthy thing and that now she felt horrible.

Heather:  I'm so busy, so stressed.  I've had half of a baked potato and some chicken tenders.
It was already in the afternoon mind you and no wonder she felt like crap.

Me: You need my shake girl!  Shakeology saves me everyday from the 'I feel like crap' feeling.

Shakeology is a rich, yummy shake filled with 70 different natural ingredients from around the world.  I'm drinking it right now while I type.

A few months ago, my husband started drinking it everyday.  I didn't set out to do it daily, but somehow I just kept reaching for it and before I knew it, I was hooked.  After two months, my digestion was better, I had avoided my daily "sugar drops" and I had more energy in the afternoons (when I needed it most!)  Also, my monthly cycles weren't horrendous.  We made it through the cold and flu season too without any major sicknesses.  Unlike every year since moving here!  I'm not saying I never will get sick, I just feel like my body is more ready to fight off any critters trying to attack me.  Last week, I felt yucky but was never confined to my bed.

So instead of my best friend crashing, she could have whipped up a shake in less than a minute and felt so much better!

The number one question I get about my fitness journey is "Do you have to change your diet?" Yes you do but I think it is good to start with small changes. Shakeology is great first step for increased energy, weight loss, and better digestion.

Below is a excerpt from our CEO of Beachbody, Carl Daikeler.
I like it because it shows that he's just like one of us in this fight to get healthier.

THE CEO's personal Shakeology® story

"You eat like a 2nd grader."

That’s what my wife said to me three years ago. She said if I was going to run a health and fitness company, I had better find a way to eat better or I’d be a dead CEO sooner than I’d like.
Problem is, I don’t like vegetables. And everything I’ve been reading about them was telling me that even they don’t have the antioxidants, prebiotics, and enzymes of some of the exotic foods being harvested from around the world.
So we set out on a mission to create a way for me to not only live up to my wife's request but surpass it, using the most potent whole-food ingredients available for health, weight loss, and energy. And we had to make it taste good.
The result is Shakeology, my healthiest meal of the day. It takes the
guesswork out of nutrition for me and simplifies my life.
I’ve been using Shakeology now for over a year, and it’s not only
my healthiest meal of the day—it’s my favorite meal of the day.
And here’s my guarantee to you: If you don’t feel results in the
first 30 days, I want you to have your money back (less s&h).
But I hope you really give it a try so you see the benefits I have.

Front entry redo

It is amazing how much better I feel after a quick furniture re-arrange!  This was my front entry this morning.  No wonder I'm grumpy huh?  The basket was great for a while but considering my 3rd graders' feet are almost the same size as mine, it has gotten way too small for shoe storage.  The bench was becoming a catch all for everything.

{After}

Ahh!  Much better.

And for a great reminder every time I walk into my house:

if only....

I'm having a case of the "if only's".  If only I was more organized.  If only I had more organizational boxes.  If only I were taller.  If only I had a new laptop......and on and on and on.  It's taking me longer to bounce back after Daddy's "long trip".  I don't know why.  I have so many ideas swirling around in my head and I can't quiet them.  I can't find a starting place and all I keep thinking is if only I had more time!  But I have the time its just the priority thing.  So I'm thinking of do this.

Just thinking of it and wanted to share.  Anyone want to do it with me?

a little update and a new vehicle

Hi friends,
I just wanted to post to let you know that I'm still here!  We have been enjoying some much needed time with Daddy.  Since both kids are in school my hubby and I have gotten to go on so many date days lately.  The first one was looking for a new truck!   Sadly, I had to trade in my beloved Highlander for him to get it.  We were growing out of it but still needed something that could pull our pop up trailer.   When we moved to the big city 3 years ago we had a diesel and the gas for it skyrocketed!  He quickly traded that in and bought a Honda Accord.  That is what I drive now and I kind of like driving a smaller car for right now.   It's weird how I get so attached to cars.  I cried when I had to sell my first car that I bought with my own money.  It took me everywhere in college.  And the other day I cried when we traded in our Highlander.  I drove my babies all over Texas in that thing.  So many memories but we are excited to make new ones in our truck.
It's actually costing us more money to have a truck.  On our second date day, we bought new outdoor furniture and loads of plants for our back yard retreat.  Our backyard is getting a bit of an overhaul and I can't wait to share it with you.  I've had so many ideas swimming around in my head lately but I've pushed them aside to play and hang out.

sorry the pics are so blurry.  I'm still figuring out my iphone camera.

While visions of white plates danced in her head....

A few weeks ago, my master bedroom looked like {this} but I knew that I needed to change it.

Now it looks like this.

I have always loved the look of white plates and I have been collecting quite a few over the past few months.  I got most of them at Marshall's and Ross and I have to admit that the two on either side are salad plates from my everyday collection.  We never use them!  I have others but I just couldn't make them work in a configuration that I liked.  Some were more like a bowl and they wouldn't fit flush to the wall.  I got my plate hangers about a year ago from ebay.  Much better pricing when buying in bulk.
I can't tell you the easiest way to do a plate collage.  I'm pretty sure I did it the hardest way possible.

So for now I'm happy and hubby likes them too.  He hasn't even asked how many holes I put in the wall and I'm not tellin' either.
I can't wait to share pictures of our master bath.  They are coming soon!
